Dutch graphic designer -SYB- (Sybren Kuiper) studied Dutch Language and Literature at the University of Utrecht. After graduating, he studied graphic design at the art Academy, also in Utrecht. Since 1994 he works as an independent graphic designer.
-SYB- works almost exclusively for a wide range of cultural clients. The first half of his career predominantly posters, flyers and programs for theater productions & festivals, the last fifteen years he worked on an ever growing oeuvre of books and catalogs commissioned by museums, publishers, photographers and other artists. Two pretty different out puts in visual style and energy. This site is exclusively dedicated to his poster designs.
-SYB- is always looking for ways to interact with the viewers on a narrative level. Sometimes his posters develop in time or are combined in various ways. More than often he designs several posters for one play or festival based on a common concept.
-SYB- also designs corporate identities and exhibitions. He is part time teacher and art director. Occasionally he writes on behalf of his clients.
SYB’s work has been widely recognized, nationally and internationally and since 2017 he is member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale)
